7th November 2024
I joined King Edward’s Witley three years ago in 3rd Form. My most vivid memory since joining was on my very first day when I got lost on my way to Ridley. I remember on my first day, I met Tom Benson (OW 2022), the Head of Ridley at the time. Combined with the other members of Ridley Sixth Form, they made Ridley a comfortable and exciting house environment where I made memories that I will remember for a lifetime.
From that first day in Ridley, I knew I wanted to become Head of House, and continue the rich legacy left by my predecessors.
So far, the event I have enjoyed orchestrating the most as Head of House has been House Music. In my 3rd, 4th, and 5th Forms, House Music was always a delightful communal activity that brought our house together and fostered an unparalleled spirit.
However, as Head of House, I have come to appreciate the organisational challenges and preparations that accompany this event, which come with a tremendous amount of stress — only outweighed by the immense joy experienced when everything comes together on the night.
As I conclude my tenure as Head of House of Ridley, I hope my efforts have made a lasting impact on its members and that Ridley will continue to flourish for generations to come.
