Duke of Edinburgh Silver Practice Expedition

On Friday 24th September through to Sunday 26th September, some of our 5th Form pupils set out on their Silver Duke of Edinburgh’s Award practice expedition to the New Forest.
To prepare for their Silver award, pupils were required to complete a total of 19km per day, including setting up camp at night time in the beautiful countryside.
The Silver DofE award requires pupils to complete six months of volunteering, and a further total of of nine months of physical and skill based voluntary activities. To qualify for their DofE Silver award, pupils are required to complete a practice expedition to prepare for their main expedition which is to be completed shortly after.
